Well at last..... I spend his birthday with him, and ON the day...well one day is frogiven considering I waited 25 years for this to happen. we went to this Persian restaurant and later the candle on a zolbia was brought to us and we all sang happy birthday to him..He is a man now and and a fine gentleman. His girl friend; a sweet lady was there too and I was soooo excited that I forgot to take any pictures...I was on cloud 9 ... I cant explain more and thank to Marylin and Mo who drove and her brother that we found went to high school at the same town that my son son reside now, small world.. it but was a milestone...a spell broken and all ..Love you my dear and many happy returns....

It is our New year. first day of spring is our New Year. March 21st. I made this haft seen as a custom we make. It is a table full of stuff starting with S which salam and health start with S in farsi. The items usually are sabze=green plants , sib=apple, senjed=a fruit of passion, sir=garlic, sekeh = coin , sumac= an herb and Quran and fish and mirror on the side. Vinegar and red fish too….so I wish my son could see my haft seen. we gather around it and I give him some new money from the middle of Quran as we used to do when we were kids…. This is 29th year of being away from Iran and not being able to celebrate new year in Iran. Wish you all Happy New Persian year and it starts at 5:30 pm California time on Tuesday March 20st… eide shoma mobarak….boos boos

Here is behesht zahra the cemetry for Tehran people. Most are the war's casualties. WHo should be blamed for it? a shah who left Iran cause he was sick and could not take it anymore? a king's son who for years kept quiet and did not move seriously?
I have to see yet my grand ma's grave, and then my mother's grave(in this same cemetry) and also my uncle's grave...does anybody out there understands the fact that too many Iranians have not seen therir relatives and their graves for 26 years?? to whom shoukd we say about this tragedy?? shakespear??

Born in 1930.08.27, in Tehran and raised in poor circumstances. He trained in a makeshift sports 2.jpg (11857 bytes) hall until he left Tehran to work as an oil worker. After being drafted into the army he was introduced to freestyle wrestling, He won his first Iranian championship in 1950, and became the first Iranian wrestler to win an international medal when he gained a silver medal in the World Championships at Helsinki in 1951, followed by silver at the Helsinki Olympics. Later he won gold in the 1956 Olympics and the 1959 World championships.
Tahkti competed unsuccessfully at the 1964 Olympics and 1966 World championships due to his being chosen for adverse political reasons. Although he had retired from competition, the government of the time attempted to discredit him in the eyes of the people with whom he was extremely popular, particularly from an anti-government stance. Though he lost in the last two competitions his popularity was not diminished.
His mysterious death in 1968.01.07 was "officially" listed as suicidal
but the popular opinion was one of political assassination by government forces./

I went to this pond to practice some drawing the nature. Used water color and that was a mistake.Very difficult. Then I figured how famine of time is attacking us. I have a lot of unfinished projects on my hands. From watching a video to finishing a book,finishing a poem, memoire, organizing this and that. and on top of it following the news. Iranians are in a waiting game. And then you hear a piece of a news that you wish you never did. Yup one more person did not live up to your expectations.... Somebody you respected and loved proved to be as ordinary, as low valued a person as a mule, with all due respect to mules compared to some people. I went to Monterey yesterday and saw my son and his girlfrined and her sister. A very very nice day and thank God for a very niced ay. Unfortunately all my pictures went bad and only 2 pictues came allright and this si one of them.These are peopel scuba diving there. We saw the Aquarium thanks to the sister. I enjoye being with my son and thank God for that. I also had to give congratulations from the whole family for his acheivements in his education, he is one to be proud of all right. I used to have these two cats, the yellow one fell from the balcony and the russian blue is with my neighbour in virginia. their names were sugar and honey. The piece of cloth in front of their litter box is what is in front of my son's apartment and I dont like it. It is ANOTHER PIECE BUT EXACTLY THE SAME DESIGN. So one day I will drive up and take it to pieces and my son would hate me. Also I live here in this town with no American TV, so I go visit this lady to see Tv and with no land phone, so go to her house to use phone, and no B-B Q grill and go there for that... people who need people. Iran lost Soccer to Portugal and Daee is in ICU and in coma.Can't argue with God's palns but makes me wonder.I am praying to get that job That I went for an interview for.

My Father's FIRST love poem to my Mother

This is a poem that my father said for my mother. If you connect the beginning of each 1/2 verse(beit) her name (shokouh Massihnia) is made,if you add last words of each 1/2 verse her name again is made. if you add the beginning of second 1/2 verse(baeit) shokoh Massihnia is made again and if you add the last words of each 2nd verse her name is made. He was 20 years old when he recited this poem, he wrote this poem with his own handwriting, how beautiful. Rodney's life; wow

Rodney was 5 years old when I first met him and I was 17 years old in the city of Richmond Indiana. He died 2 weeks ago but he lived a richer life than a 100 year old man. He was first diagnosed with cancer of blood(lukemia) when he was 5 years old. He was actually playing and running right in front of me and his mother. She called him and stopped him from running and asked Rodney "what is that spot on his neck?". we both looked at it wondering. She took him to the Dr. the next day and the news broke....He had Lukimea.His mother / my friend, had to take him to Indianapolis almost every other day for treatment. At that time cancer and its treatment were in early stages. Rodney survived that and played football, basketball, got 2 masters degree and one PhD. A doctor, a lawyer.. wow his life was wider than longer and richer than most people I know. He won the difficult and long struggle to overcome obsticles in his life. His wife is nice too and his child from the picture I know, but I hope his mother and father can bear this. This is his obituary after his last struggle with cancer of brain; maybe if you click on the article it gets larger so you can read it easily. Quite of achievements. Rodney was sweet and no bitterness in him. Last time I met him was in Virginia, he and his wife came over and I made him some Persian dis, he loved it and ate all of it and some ice-cream. His wife was pregnant then and life was nice to them for a short while...He shared some of his knowledge of blood structure with us. His wife was becoming a lawyer and he was practicing law too. I am a good friend of his aunt and always ask about him, his sisters... I feel like I have an extended family there. One day I should write about them, her aunt was born by Dr. Mossadegh. Well he was a sweet and brave fighter and always a winner in my eyes...We should learn from him, may God bless you my lovely child...

Stuff we don�t ever see or hear in Iranian schools but we do in American schools:
- We never went to our teacher asking for a tissue and then blow our noses at the corner of the room, but in American schools this happens 10 times a day!
- We did not have a library in each class and did not have a book reading session but here it is a must and reading silently is daily practiced.
- You wont see girls and boys mixed and also not wearing a uniform but whatever they like!
- In middle of a class different teachers walk in and take a student out or to the side and teach them speech or spelling and whatever is planned for that student.
- Going to the bathroom with a bathroom pass in the middle of the class session so many times�
- Being so impolite to teachers and sit on tables and chairs
- Applying makeup in the classroom

But I love working in a school and learning as I teach. I am also proud to announce that my students improved in math so much that it is noticeable. I love teaching, writing, journalism and some politics�.My mind is full of those subjects and my heart??? Dandane kineh bar jegare khaste basto raft�

My 3 uncles(Daee ham )

I have 3 uncles. Daee houshang, Daee Farhang and Daee Bijan. They are all nice and the best uncles you can have,thou they all are not into calling but kind, intelligent and artist! Well some try to be an artist. First Daee Bijan started to paint and he really did a good job but unfortunately he never send me one of his paintings so I don�t have any unless they send me a picture of it. I remember the one that a matador was fighting with a cow and it was 3 dimentional, then the one of a mill(asiab) in the moonlight and the moonlight looked so real. Then Daee Houshang paints fruits, sceneries and sunsets and all. He painted the above picture of an alley . He did that from a picture that I gave him and imagine mixed. He did this when he came to Virginia to visit my mother that was sick with cancer and he also painted some onions and a knife per my request years ago. He is very diligent in his work. Then the bottom one is done by my uncle who is a physician by profession and only drew couple of paintings for fun in his retirement days. He painted this monet type since I was begging her dauther to paint one for me with some drops (ghatreh) on each flower) . The bottom picture is Daee Farhangs attempt to draw one. I love it and glad that I have this. Thou my best paintings come from Shirin but maybe its in our bloods to paint and my other cousins have the talent too. The middle work in this picture is my needle work cause my grandma was the best needle work artist in my eyes and she did a basket of flowers that I wish I could inherit . Now this pictures is meaningful to me and reminds me lots of memories� the one on top that you cant see is the grade of my student and her picture which is an A plus. I'm all shook up oooo ye ye...today is Rodney's funeral, daee in hospital, I did teach math to a student who is 17 and had a baby! . I renewed my rent and cant wait for the wind to stop so I can go swimming. Watched Donald Trump and Oprah at a girl friend's house. Somehow dont feel writing as I used to in the beginning. Also my other student got an A, life is funny. I dont know what this pic reminds me of, and do you care? As I predicted Iran is under a lot of events and more is in the making... politics...politics....where are you Bobby joon?

Rodney died last night....such a pity his wife is pregnant but he was a cancer survivor for years,got 2 phd, and one lawyer's degree and saw his first child. he was young and clever but as I explained cancer has no boundries. He is now in heaven and God bless his beautiful soul.....

I went to this event in town with thousands of people walking for cancer patients, those who died and those who survived and for each name was a paper holder and a candle with some sands inside. I made one for my mother (In memeory of ehr) and one for my uncle (In honor ) of him. I wrote RODNEY's name there too.CLICK ON PICTURE TO SEE IT ENLARGED.There were pictures of young and old ;men and women and different nationalities..cancer knows no boundry...It was a touching experience,all these candles light the football satdium outdoor and all people walking around it with one thought in mind, how to find a cure for cancer and when?

I am praying for my uncle and he does look like this picture of Paul Newman, pity my mother did not know whether paul newman was the man or the woman in the first movie she went with my father as engaged couple. In those days (80 years ago) you could not date a man unless you were getting married to him). Well my uncle has a good voice and can say azan better than Marzieh and Zabihi put together.. He is a heart physician and helped so many people.. God please help him..
