The islamists win through intimidation and enforced ignorance. By forcing the teaching of what is only allowed by shari'a they further their own goals of total dominace. I am reminded of how Ayatolla Khomenie came to power. He had fomented rebellion through audio tapes sent to his followers. After he came to power he outlawed tape recorders. I hear that now the current crop of religious leaders are banning the internet too. Information is the biggest threat to these people. That's one of the reasons they hate and fear educated women.
