Tehran is his name!

rangarang tv is at www.rangarangtv.com and Tehran is the name of an announcer around my son's age, I was desperate on thanksgiving and called him and was sad about not seeing my son on thankgiving, here is his sweet reply. Thanks Tehran ,keep up the good work, maybe I can see him for Christmas? The picture is the donkey as trade mark of rangarang or shotor as trade mark of Mithra? hahah love you all, specially my son. here is his letter:
Hi. I know you dont know me but my name is Tehran. I have this persian tv
show called Zendigi...its funny how many people watch it (it is the #1
persian television show on satellite). Anyway, Im writing you because youre
PERSIAN MOM asked me to write you. Ive talked to her a couple of times and
well basically shes kind of sad that you and her dont spend more time
together. Its none of my business, but she asked me to write you and I said
that I would. Im not a presit or a guide so Im not gonna scold you or
school you on how you should love your parents and spend time with
them...especially knowing Persian Moms the way I do, sometimes it can be a
little tedious. Besides you go to Cornell (good job by the way) and Im sure
you are smart enough to figure all this out on your own. Im just writing to
let you know that despite anything and everything that may have happened
your mother loves you very much and she just wants to spend more time with
you and whether there was effort before or ont, I dont know, but I do know
that today is the proverbial first day of the rest of your life, so you
should take what chance you have. If not for you then for her. Because
despite everything you have achieved on your own, in some shape or form
whether spiritually, mentally, or genetically you owe it to your mother.
But most importantly you owe it to yourself. So call your mom, drop her a
line, let her know you love her im sure it will make her day...and who knows
it might even make yours.

JACKSON'S EX: 'MICHAEL IS NOT THE NATURAL FATHER'

MICHAEL HAS A BIG HEART.
MICHAEL JACKSON's ex-wife DEBBIE ROWE has told an Irish newspaper the THRILLER singer is not the biological father of their children PRINCE MICHAEL JR and PARIS. Rowe, who was married to Jackson for three years between 1996 and 1999, claims her eight-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter were both conceived using anonymous semen brought from a sperm bank. She tells the Sunday World, "Michael knows the truth - that he is not the natural father of Prince Michael Jr and Paris. He has to come clean. "I have no information whatsoever about the identity of the semen donor for either child as such (semen) was obtained anonymously from a semen bank under an agreement of confidentiality." Freedom is sweet for the neighbor

Palestinian women, some holding their passports, at the passport control terminal of the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt on Saturday Nov. 26. 2005. Hundreds of Palestinians crossed from Gaza to Egypt through the Palestinian-run border terminal Saturday, marking the first time in nearly four decades they didn't have to submit to Israeli security checks to leave the fenced-in coastal strip.(AP Photo/Emilio Morenatti ) . I guess they first would go for a check up to a doctor. Human beings are supposed tod be free.

My sister is visiting the grave on our behalf and giving adas polo and khorma. I visited other graves and saw some interesting ones. This one is the grave of a young woman,28 years old and it says "MURDERED BY INDIANS" in 1881. This cemetry in lompoc is very old. I saw diferent religios like this one is a Christian and this one a Jew , but no Muslim, so maybe I will be the first Muslim buried if I saty here and buy a house. Also here is an overall view of ceemetry and hills. This one had a cat on trop of the grave thou no animals were buried here. This one is so old.Tis one has a sign of music and this one is a free-mason grave.

It was Arafat's death anniversisary. I like him and Robin. I wish world was kinder and these 2 were alive and see a peace. When? key bovad key? well I freeze this cause my question is if my son were yours what would you have done reacting to his sharp comments; indifferent behaviour? I am tired but also need a solution. I wont do any more posting till I really get comments. this is how you do it, click on comments, then write it and sign your name or not, then click on anonymous and scroll down and type the letters you see in a box and then click on post comment. Easy. please do that. you know his answering machine says I am busy wont answer phone, try my email you may get lucky!I feel its so snob, impolite. Turkey holiday

Last year around thanksgiving I was very excited thinking I will have my FIRST thanks giving with my 26 year old son.Yes for 26 years I NEVER had a thanksgiving with him, hold it I did not have a christmas with him either, hold it I did not have birthdays with him either, WAIT I HATE WHOEVER who DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH PRESSURSE I FEEL> I hate his old roommate cause he rather spend the thanksgiving with him or his girlfriend telling me this is not your holiday cause you aint American!! or Christmas is just for Christians. well first of all Muslims do believe in Jesus and his birth has 12 ayats in Quran called surah Maryam, but thats not the point, the point is that I AM TIRED OF WAITING,TO BE THE LAST ON THE LIST... HE IS GOING TO TORONTO THIS WEEKEND, THEN TO SF TO SPEND THANKSGIVING WITH AN EX-ROOMMATE AND GIRL-FRIEND,THEN CHRISTMAS WITH HIS GIRL-FRIEND, THEN.... YEARS GO BY... WELL THIS TIME I AM ANGRY AND ITS NOT PERSONAL, WHOEVER WAS HIS ROOMMATE,WHOEVER WAS HIS GIRL FRIEND, OR WHATEVER... I will NOT ask, call, make dates or anything anymore. I am hurt and want to shout it cause for YEARS I hide it. why did I get attracted to shora? cause most mothers in that group were away from their children. Some did not even know where their children were, somewhere in Europe cause there was a war in Iraq. But now I am here, at the same state as he is for the first time. I am so close, reaching and my hand and cant touch him...aah keh vosate tanhai shahin dar zehne morghhaye khanegi nemigonjad.
Enjoy this song if you really dont understand what I am saying and have never been in my shoes, lets pretend we are happy as I did for 26 years and pretend donam daroomadeh.!! http://www.msn.americangreetings.com/view.pd?i=382219626&m=1652&rr=y&source=m or click on header and see a funny picture. believe me its not funny anymore....

Me at a ghanat in Mashhad ,vozu, before praying

royaghanatmashhad
Originally uploaded by roya parsay.

Our house had two doors, one was iron and the other made out of wood. Dar choubieh was its name meaning the wooden door.click on header the door is behind us. Our house was the last house to your right in a deadend alley(koucheh bonbast). To our right was hedayat street one side of it would go to sare ghanat the other to falakeh. Ghanat is a stream of water coming from the mountain and getting to surface of the ground at a place called ghanat. People would drink its water that was better than evian water. I loved going downstairs to it. I don’t have a picture of it but in mashhad I found one and I have a picture of that. Muslims have to wash their hands and head before praying and this is what I am doing here. Anyway sare ghanat was were all the shopping stores were for vegetables, meat and all… The iron gate in our house would go to sheybani street and darroos and dowlat on one side and chaleharz on the other. I met a reporter in Michael Jackson trial called Haraz which is the name of a road going to seaside of Iran. His father was Iranian and loved Iran like Tehran's father. People love Iran and had to leave it…
Anyway at that time everybody in that alley would send their servants thru our house and people were usually trying to go fast or look around and go. We almost lived with all the neighbors as unexpected guests at any moment and once in a while my mother would get angry and close one of the doors and in a matter of 2 hours dar choubieh was open again. Right behind dar choubieh was a biaboonie(uninhabited land) and we used to play there, bake potatoes under ground or bury our favorite cat Maloos that was poisoned by our grand-pa one of the reasons I did not like him. Well this was interesting cause we had deer, dogs, cats, hens and roosters and chickens in that yard a.

We had carrots, radishes, leeks, onions, mint… and cherry trees, albaloo, gerdoo and shatoot(berries) in that yard. We had an amazing childhood and wish my son did ,thou he was migrating from this country to the other… pity… well back to servants..
P.S This picture is me and 2 of firoozeh and ali’s sons and my brothers with a new dog we got then. Abedin is the last small boy to your left and he used to come and stand outside the bathroom and sing outloud so I wont be scared of spiders and beetles….dont you dare laughing at me. All my allowance money would go paying Abedin! Later at Purdue, Shokoufeh a girl friend used to do that after I saw the movie Exorcist and was scared. I do get scared easily unlike my mother who was exceptionally brave. The servants stories follows in the next posting

Me and Firoozeh...

royafiroozehzanboor!
Originally uploaded by roya parsay.
There were other couples who lived with us, like Firoozeh and Hassan. Hassan was claiming that he was the servant of Queen Farah when she was a child, I need to email that to the Queen. Firoozeh was maybe 25 years younger than Hassan. She fell in love with one of the soldiers (gomashteh) that used to work to our neighbor, immediate neighbour’s servant (my aunt’s house), called Ali. Everytime she would see him she would pretent to be passed out right in front of him to get his attention. Once I saw her throwing a piece of cloth carefully on the floor so that she could pass out on it when Ali would come to pass our house to go shoppoing. One of The servants choirs were to do daily shopping(kharid). In Iran people shop daily for fresh vegetables and fruits. We had a wooden door(dar choobi) in our house that almost all servants and other people in that alley would go through as a short cut to shopping center. This is easement on property .dar choobi has own story……..picture is Firoozeh and I next to mother's roses just before a bee try to bite me. Firoozeh always wanted to prend to be our friend and very equal to us. She was but not at that time and not in Iran,....

Our servants in Iran

vajidarhoozrezanazi
Originally uploaded by roya parsay.

In Iranian culture there is a class of people called servants(khedmatkar). Most families in Tehran had atleast one. In my life we changed about 20 of them . Here is their names: Zahra Soltan, Kobra,Safieh, Firoozeh, Shahnaz, Masoome, Abbas, Vaji, Ali, Reza, Abedin, Hasssan shohar firozeh. Enayat , ataah, Esmael, Mahmoud , ali bia bai.. esmael kachal, Fatemeh, Safar, Abbas. Naneh sakineh.

The first servant I remember is Naaneh Sakineh. She was MY nanny. I liked her a lot. In reality she looked ugly and tarakhom took all of her eyelashes away ,but to me I would say ghorboone booye pirhanet..(love the smell of your robe) . She used to make mattresses (lahaf doozi) with my grandma is what I remember of her. Nanaeh sakineh was a nanny rather than a servant but they were all called khedmatkar. Kolfat was a woman servant and nokar a male one. We changed soooo many kolfat nokar its amazing. I want to list then an a brief description of each cause they were part of our life inevitably. BTW Ahmadinejad the president of Iranian looks like that class of people usually illiterate, dirty looking too. The majority were clean, kind but unfortunate to be forced to take this role for free room and board and some salary.. The most beautiful one I saw was NANEH ARAGHI my aunt’s kolfat. She ran away from Iraq and had a tattoo and was beautiful.
Well here they are in no particular order:
I guess the last kolfat nokar we had were Vajieh and Ali. They were Turkish and usually the husband was way older than the wife. Ali was way older than Vaji too. They would throw Turkish phrases like ghaasmagh for tahdig(crispy rice) and soo for water, or ishhak for donkey! They had a son called Reza. He was always eating and eating .bread, rice and was still hungry, he would say man ghoshneyam…Once he fell into pool and passed out and my father said reza here is some kabab , he opened his eyes immediately and we were worry free that he is o.k. He was cute looking . Vaji would work way more than Ali.I learned some Turkish like samavari soo vardi? (Is there water in the samovar?) . They lived in a room at the end of hayat, it used to be a garage , dark and full of hens . before they move in there we used to go and collect warm eggs just laid by hens in that dark place. One day the roof collapsed and their room was built instead and became kolfat nokar’s room . Before that there was a room next to the kitchen .

One thing I should say here and that is the fact that these people were all illiterate and they would come to us and ask us to write a letter . I was young and once one of them came and asked me to write him a letter to send to his village. I was tired of always writing say hello to Hassan, say hello to hossain, say hello to ali… so I started writing I am a donkey and you are all a donkey and hassan is a donkey…. And so on and he mailed it to his village. What happens next is that a person in that village has this job (nameh khan-letter reader) and I was hoping that he would read those sentences as nice ones. To this day I feel guilty and never knew what happened. The picture is Vaji and her 2 children Nazi and Reza cleaning our pool. I tell of others in the next posting

This is my room at Purdue, graduate house, when I was 18 years old! I am still 17.5! if you see the posture on the wall, 2 people under the rain, was my favourate posture. This room burned! what happened ? I had a wire heater to boil watre and make tea. I turned it on and left. Can you see the yellow stuffed animal next to the phone? well a drop of boiled water or melted cup made that burn. Majid had given me a rug and when I came back I had to turn off the fire with that rug. Sorry Majid, thou he never mentioned it. Bahman liked this room too. My next posture was of a lion. I am tired of talking about myself since I am not allowed to show anybody else's picture. My next posting is of 0ur servants. I am glad we made peace with each other and also the fact that my heater works in my apartment and I can stop fighting with the landlord. ashti as ghahr behtare, dar afv lezatist keh dar entegham nist! by prophet Mohammad, there is a pleasure in forgiveness that does not exist in revenge.

The closest I got to it was a stuffed animal of a leopard! Bahman gave it me for my birthday at Purdue! I am still waiting! I wish all a good day. I flew over here via Pheonix Arizona. All cities look alike when you fly at night. LA, Pheonix, Dallas and Tehran look alike from the sky at night. Wherever you are be in tranquil.

I am reading a book my sister brought me from Tehran, its called "shoma keh gharibeh nistid" by Houshang Moradi Kermani. It is fascinating, I recommand reading it to all who can read Farsi. I like tha part he explains about writing, I feel excatly the same way. He explains the events in his village in a most interesting way. I wish Avik could read Farsi!
